Website Designer

Strong web design and coding skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, are essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Online Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing strong web design and front-end development skills, including examples of responsive designs.
  • Design Software Proficiency: Expertise in designing web pages using Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • CMS & E-commerce Experience: Experience with CMS and e-commerce platforms such as WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce, and WebFlow.
  • Hand-Coding Skills: Proficiency in hand-coding clean, pixel-perfect, and standards-compliant HTML and CSS.
  • Responsive Design Knowledge: Strong understanding of responsive design and development principles.
  • Brand Integration: Ability to quickly grasp brand goals and translate them into visually cohesive web experiences.
  • Project Management: Skilled in managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative Communication: Capability to generate, articulate, and present creative ideas and strategies effectively.
  • Team Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills that foster team cooperation, inspire enthusiasm, and encourage strategic thinking.
  • Experience:
    • 1-2+ years of experience designing websites in a production environment.
    • 1-2+ years of experience hand-coding HTML and CSS in a professional setting.
    • 1-2+ years of relevant experience (agency experience preferred; academic and non-professional work will be considered).
    • Bachelor’s degree in web design, online media, or a related field is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Portfolio Samples: Must be able to provide examples of previous work.

Responsibilities

  • Create Brand-Centric Designs: Develop website structures and graphical assets that capture each brand’s unique identity while meeting business objectives.
  • Deliver CMS-Compatible Solutions: Produce creative assets and layouts that seamlessly integrate with content management systems.
  • Implement User Experience Best Practices: Ensure all work adheres to established requirements and incorporates best practices in user experience and design execution.
  • HTML Styling: Style HTML elements post-content entry to enhance visual appeal and functionality.
  • Present Creative Ideas: Share and discuss design concepts with key stakeholders and clients, primarily via phone and email.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with development and content teams to maintain creative alignment and ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Follow and Improve Workflow Processes: Adhere to established creative workflows and actively contribute to improving overall creative processes.
  • Participate in Team Meetings: Attend kick-off meetings, design reviews, departmental meetings, and training sessions as needed.
  • Stay Informed on Industry Trends: Keep up with current design and technology trends to maintain a fresh and relevant approach in all projects.
