Justin Kowalski, Brand Designer & Creative Strategist at Raincross

Brand Designer & Creative Strategist

Justin shapes how brands look, sound, and show up in the world. He works across brand design, creative strategy, visual identity, messaging, graphic design, video, illustration, and storytelling to turn ideas into recognizable creative systems.

Justin Kowalski is a Brand Designer and Creative Strategist at Raincross, helping organizations build a clearer, more distinctive way to look, sound, and communicate across every touchpoint.

His work spans brand identity, creative direction, graphic design, illustration, video editing, storyboarding, script writing, messaging, tone, and visual storytelling. That range allows him to move between the strategic idea behind a brand and the individual creative pieces that bring it to life, keeping the work consistent across audiences, formats, and channels.

Justin approaches creative work as storytelling rather than decoration. A visual identity, campaign concept, video, illustration, or piece of copy should contribute to a larger idea about what an organization represents and how people should understand it. His role is often to find that central idea and translate it into design and strategy that feels intentional and recognizable.

His creative perspective is also shaped by the visual culture he grew up with. Saturday morning cartoons, comic books, movies, music, and the bold visual language of the 1980s continue to influence how he thinks about character, narrative, emotion, and memorable design. That influence gives his work personality without allowing nostalgia or style to become a substitute for the purpose of the project.

Outside of his creative work, Justin is also a pastor. That part of his life informs the way he thinks about people, communication, meaning, and the responsibility that comes with telling a story. For Justin, strong creative work is not simply about making something look good. It is about understanding what something means and finding a compelling way to communicate it.
